Our Quartet performs in the smartest of black attire. All we require is four armless chairs and ample light as we play from sheet music. If performing outdoors, we will need adequate protection from the weather, including sunshine.
As our instruments are all over 100 years old, they have had plenty of experience projecting sound without microphones. That means no messy cords, amplifiers or power outlets are needed!
We generally perform as a Quartet (two violins, one viola, one cello) however we can also perform as a trio (one violin, one viola, one cello). We must advise that the traditional string quartet has a much richer sound and a wider range of repertoire. The choice however, is yours!
Please keep in mind we require a 10 minute break after every hour of performance and for performances 3 hours or longer we do appreciate some small refreshments and nibbles … to keep us energised!
